Amy Rogacki is an Abstract Expressionist.  She starts each piece with no image in mind.  Instead, she begins with a random mark on the canvas or paper, then regards what is developing, moving ahead as the conversation between herself and the pieces develops.  There's often a journey of many layers and hours of listening.  The path is unknown and requires trust.

Amy holds an MA in Sculpture from Marshall University as well as an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of New Mexico.  Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, the rich Appalachian foothills and the Ohio river and its mills were her early artistic influences. 

She lives in France with her husband and their cats Coco and Marie and is currently working on her next series as well as a musical project.
